What are Regulatory Recovery Fee surcharges?

The Regulatory Recovery Fee is $2.50 per PANTEL phone number. It is a fee that Pantel charges its customers for but not limited to local number portability costs, CALEA compliance costs and other regulatory related fees and cost. The Regulatory Recovery Fee also includes similar cost incurred in foreign countries.

What is The Universal Service Fund Fee?

The Universal Service Fund (USF) is a FCC program designed to ensure the availability of affordable telecommunications services to schools, libraries and rural healthcare facilities; it also serves to subsidize local service in high-cost areas and low-income households. In June 2006, the FCC required VoIP providers to contribute to the USF. For additional information on the USF, please visit www.fcc.gov

What charges will be made each month?

If you are on a monthly plan, the charges that will appear on your monthly bill are:

1. Your monthly Plan paid in advance every month, plus.

2. Any applicable Long Distance charges paid subsequent to the end of each month’s usage plus any applicable taxes and fees (Regulatory Recovery Fee and Universal Service Fund).

Which could be cause of problems with your phone service?

If you are a new user there are some things you should know that could happen on your service and most of them could be solved with some adjustments depending on the issue.

1) Voice Cracking

As you know Digital Telephony travels over the Internet and depends on the quality of your Internet line in order to have good quality voice, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) assigns a given bandwidth according with your plan, the bandwidth, could be 128K, 256K, 512K, 768K, 1.0MB, 1.5MB etc. (this is the upload speed value).  If you are having problems with your service the first thing you have to do is check the bandwidth you have, use this link http://www.pantel.asp/quality.asp to be sure of your Quality of Service.

2) Excessive of use

Maybe you have enough bandwidth on you Internet line but you are the kind of user  that likes to download programs, music, watch videos and other stuff, all this tasks take part of your bandwidth and of course you want to use also your digital phone, chances are that the voice quality is not going to be good, if you stop the downloading the voice quality will be back on you phone service.

How does Pin-Free technology work?
When you need to make a Long Distance call, dial 786-888-0996 or check www.pantel.us.pfan.asp to see other access local numbers, our Switch will automatically recognize you by your caller ID and immediately after this quick validation you will hear dial tone, enter the number you wish to call, you'll hear your balance in minutes and dollars. If you calling from your pre-registered telephone number, there will be No Pins or Codes to remember.

Important: Please do not block your caller ID, because we will not be able to recognize you.

Do I have to Subscribe to use the Pin-Free Service?
Yes. Since the system works with Caller ID technology, you must register your phone numbers or the phone numbers you want the system to recognize.

How many phone numbers can I register when subscribing?
You can register as many numbers you want under one account.

Can I use PANTEL's Long Distance service from my cellular phone?
Yes, you just need to register your cellular number with us. Remember to dial our access number every time you place a long distance call from your cellular phone. In order to avoid dialing mistakes and charges from your cellular provider, we recommend to record PANTEL access number in your cellular memory.

There are any connection charges or hidden charges using this service?
NO. You just paid what you use, There are NO connection charges, maintenance charges, or hidden charges of any king. The rate per minute that you have is rounded in 1 minute increments.

How long my Account will stay active?
Once you have created an account, it will stay active as long as you need it. There are no expirations or limitations on how much you need to expend.

Can I use the service when I'm not in my house or cellular?
YES. When you open an account with us, you just need to call us or your Agent to register a new number.

What will be a recommended amount to recharge on my Pin Free account?
That will depend on the amount of time you want to talk and the destination, but the minimum amount to recharge is $5.
